YVLA has an attorney on retainer to assist members with
landlord/tenant legal questions and problems. Just call
his office during regular business hours and identify yourself
as a paid member. Free consultations are provided to members
in good standing and are limited to phone service. Further
services are available at reasonable fees by our attorney
who is knowledgeable in Landlord/Tenant Law.

MEMBERSHIP
PACKET:
Each new member receives a membership packet containing
sample rental forms. Information about what forms are required
by law and what forms just make good sense; Washington State
Landlord/Tenant Law booklet; YVLA handbook; Screening company
referrals; the latest edition of the YVLA News.
RENTAL
FORMS:
Rental forms to help manage your business and protect your
interest in your property are available at our office and
also on this Web Site. These forms meet landlord and tenant
law requirements for both state and federal and have been
prepared and/or edited by our attorney and are updated as
laws change.
COMMUNICATION:
YVLA News, a newsletter published monthly, includes new
laws, changes in laws, and general meeting information.
Our goal is to keep members informed about meeting times
and places, upcoming programs and seminars plus any law
changes that affect rental property.

• YVLA holds monthly general membership dinners and
meetings featuring topics and speakers
relevant to the rental business.

LEGISLATIVE
COMMITTEE:
The association’s legislative committee monitors and protects
your interests at both local and state levels.
MENTOR
PROGRAM:
Our office staff can refer you to experienced landlords
who are available by phone to answer non-legal questions
and to provide informational tips on being a successful
landlord.
WITNESS
PROGRAM:
Volunteer landlords are available to help you if you have
damage, cleaning, or suspected abandonment that needs to be
established in court.
